Veronica has led the editing and proofing function at Root for 12 years. Her team is responsible for the quality of all Root materials, from paper-based Learning Map® sets to digital modules. Veronica works closely with project leads and designers to ensure that our learning materials are as perfect as possible and are a good fit with the end-user audience.

She also writes and copy edits articles for other Root functions and, often, for clients and outside experts. In 2008, she served as editor for Root CEO Jim Haudan’s book, The Art of Engagement (McGraw-Hill). She is the editor of Root’s quarterly newsletter, The Watercooler, and Root’s internal paper, RootNews.

Before joining Root, Veronica was editor-in-chief of two magazines and has freelanced for several others. Her feature articles have won national and regional awards.

She earned a BS in education, majoring in English, from Bowling Green State University, and has taken graduate courses in linguistics and adult education. She has taught GED and Adult Basic Education courses in Ohio and Florida, and has proofread for textbook publishers including the University of Michigan Press.
